Which Jem'Hadar Ships Can You Fly?

A Dominion ship can put you behind the controls of a nimble bugship or give you command of a carrier with its own supporting craft. Star Trek Online Jem'Hadar ships include the starting T5-U Escort, Vanguard vessels with dedicated wingmen, and cross-faction warships such as the T6 Strike Ship. Their bridge officer seating, hangar bays, and acquisition routes make the exact variant matter when choosing your next ship.

The lineup falls into two broad groups:

• Dominion faction ships: These include the starting Escort and Vanguard vessels with their own account-access requirements.
• Cross-faction Jem'Hadar ships: These include the Attack Ship, Strike Ship, Dreadnought Carrier, Heavy Strike Wing Escort, and Light Battlecruiser.

Pay attention to the complete ship name and tier before spending currency. A Jem'Hadar Vanguard Carrier and a Jem'Hadar Dreadnought Carrier are separate vessels, while several older ship families have both T5 and T6 versions.

The Starting Escort and Your Dominion Captain

Dominion characters begin at level 60 with equipment and progression already in place. Their starting vessel is the Jem'Hadar Escort (T5-U), a small, maneuverable warship built around the familiar Dominion bugship design.

The Escort has four forward weapon slots, three aft weapon slots, and supports dual cannons. Its bridge officer layout includes Commander Tactical seating, giving it a clear tactical foundation without requiring an immediate premium ship purchase.

Use the starting Escort to practice keeping targets in your forward firing arc before committing to another cannon-capable vessel.

Your captain's species and your ship purchase are separate choices. Vanguard Jem'Hadar characters gain space-combat damage, critical chance, and critical severity bonuses alongside their ground bonuses. Purchasing a Vanguard starship is a different unlock.

The April 21–May 21 Quick Start event offered a free Tactical Vanguard Jem'Hadar and an additional character slot. That promotion created a permanent character, but it did not unlock the Vanguard species across the account.

Vanguard Ships: Wingmen, Hangars, and Mastery

The four Vanguard vessels below come with two Jem'Hadar Vanguard Wingmen, piloting Vanguard Heavy Raiders. Those supporting ships are distinct from hangar pets, so a Vanguard vessel can have wingmen without having a hangar bay.

Their equipment and specialist seating create meaningful differences:

Carrier and Dreadnought Cruiser

The Vanguard Carrier combines two hangar bays, its wingmen, and a detachable craft activated through its included console. That gives you several supporting elements to manage alongside your own weapons and bridge officer abilities. Its starship trait is Dampen Energy Signatures.

The Vanguard Dreadnought Cruiser combines frontline combat capabilities with fleet-support tools. It carries one hangar bay, cruiser commands, and the Team Synergy starship trait.

Count hangar bays and wingmen separately when comparing these ships. Both vessels have wingmen, while the Carrier has an additional hangar bay.

Heavy Raider and Warship

The Vanguard Heavy Raider emphasizes maneuverability and flexible seating. Its Universal/Pilot seat and Improved Raider Flanking support a mobile approach to combat.

The Vanguard Warship is a heavier offensive vessel with Tactical/Miracle Worker seating. It includes the Tricks Of The Trade starship trait.

Use their flanking capability deliberately: maneuver for flanking opportunities instead of remaining in a fixed firing position.

Unlocking Vanguard Ships for Other Captains

These Zen Store Vanguard ships have a sixth Starship Mastery level. Reaching Mastery Level VI on a ship unlocks that vessel for characters of other factions on your account.

Complete the relevant ship's sixth mastery level on your Dominion captain before moving it into another faction's lineup. This unlock is tied to the ship's mastery progression.

Jem'Hadar Strike Ship: Stats and Go for the Kill

The Jem'Hadar Strike Ship is a T6 Escort with the classic compact attack-ship profile. It combines tactical console capacity, dual-cannon support, and an Experimental Weapon slot.

Its equipment slots and hull scale with your captain's level. The following figures describe its developed configuration, with hull shown specifically at level 65:

Its specialist seats include Lieutenant Commander Tactical/Intelligence and Lieutenant Universal/Command. The included Dominion Defense Screen universal console belongs to the Dominion Console Set.

How Go for the Kill Works

At Starship Mastery Level V, the Strike Ship unlocks Go for the Kill. Critical hits extend an active Cannons: Rapid Fire by three seconds, with the extension able to trigger once every five seconds.

Build around Cannons: Rapid Fire if you want to use that trait's specific benefit. Its effect extends that firing mode; it does not describe a general extension for every weapon ability.

The Experimental Weapon slot also operates separately from standard weapon slots. Experimental weapons are not affected by bridge officer weapon firing modes.

Acquisition and Experimental Upgrades

The Strike Ship is available through the Tier 6 Promotional Ship Choice Pack. Its selected, boxed ship can also be traded or purchased on the Exchange under Special Requisition Pack - Jem'Hadar Strike Ship [T6].

It has also appeared as an account-unlock choice in Mudd's Outta This Wormhole Choice Pack.

Experimental upgrades add another progression path:

• T6-X: Requires one Experimental Ship Upgrade Token.
• T6-X2: Requires two additional tokens, bringing the total to three.
• Combined additions: Up to two extra device slots, two universal console slots, and two extra starship trait slots.

Compare the acquisition package's unlock scope before purchasing, especially when deciding between a tradable boxed ship and an account-unlock bundle.

Other Dominion Warships and Their Acquisition Routes

Several older Dominion designs offer different combinations of hangars, specialist seating, and included equipment.

Jem'Hadar Dreadnought Carrier

The T6 Jem'Hadar Dreadnought Carrier has two hangar bays equipped with Jem'Hadar Fighters, Subsystem Targeting, and the Dominion Coordination starship trait.

Its specialist seating includes Lieutenant Commander Engineering/Command and Lieutenant Engineering/Intelligence. It comes with the Enhanced Dominion Command Interface console and is available as a rare Infinity Lock Box reward.

The Gamma Vanguard Pack includes a T5 Dreadnought Carrier. Read the tier in the bundle contents when comparing it with the T6 vessel.

Jem'Hadar Heavy Strike Wing Escort

The T6 Heavy Strike Wing Escort combines an Experimental Weapon slot with one hangar bay equipped with Jem'Hadar Fighters.

Its equipment includes the Enhanced Dominion Coordination Protocol console and Tactical Analysis starship trait. Specialist seating includes Lieutenant Commander Universal/Pilot and Lieutenant Engineering/Intelligence.

The T6 version costs 900 Lobi Crystals through the Lobi Crystal Consortium. The Gamma Vanguard Pack includes the T5 version.

Jem'Hadar Light Battlecruiser

The T6 Light Battlecruiser has an unusual seating arrangement: Commander Engineering and Commander Universal, plus Lieutenant Commander Tactical/Intelligence.

It includes Battlecruiser commands, the Personal Wormhole Generator console, and the Obedience Is Victory starship trait. Acquisition routes include rare rewards from the Deep Space Nine Lock Box and Infinity Lock Box.

Compare the dual Commander seats with your intended bridge officer abilities before choosing this hull.

Polaron Weapons and Dominion Equipment Sets

Polaron weapons suit a Dominion-themed loadout, and Dominion playable starships support dual cannons. Their warp cores use the Matter-Antimatter category.

Two equipment sets deserve attention:

• Dominion Console Set: Includes consoles associated with the Dreadnought Carrier, Heavy Escort, and Strike/Recon ship families. The Strike Ship's Dominion Defense Screen is part of this set.
• Jem'Hadar Space Set: Equipping its deflector, impulse engines, and shields on a Dominion playable starship unlocks the Victory is Life passive, adding a debuff proc to polaron weaponry.

Keep those sets separate when planning equipment: one uses universal consoles, while the other requires three ship-equipment pieces.

For a Strike Ship using Go for the Kill, pair your cannon loadout with Cannons: Rapid Fire. For a Vanguard carrier setup, account for hangar pets, wingmen, and console-deployed craft individually when arranging your combat abilities.
