Which Patrol Should You Run for a Quick Session?
The Star Trek Online fastest patrol question comes down to your goal: finishing a short mission, collecting daily rewards, or building Starship Mastery. Start with “Wanted” in the Argala System for a straightforward objective: defeat five waves of Kazon. Launching directly from the Patrols menu also removes the sector-space trip from your routine.
Patrols are designed for 5- or 10-minute sessions and support solo play. Wanted gives you a clear combat objective to work through, making it a practical starting point when you want to spend your session fighting instead of navigating.
For a quick completion, select Normal difficulty and concentrate fire on individual ships to reduce the number of enemies attacking you. Finish every objective before leaving the system.

How to Launch Wanted Without Traveling to Argala
Use the Patrols interface to enter directly:

- Open the TFO menu.
- Select the PATROLS tab.
- Use the Delta Quadrant filter to narrow the list.
- Select Wanted, associated with the Argala System.
- Choose your difficulty using the difficulty control.
- Select Launch to travel directly into the patrol.
The same interface includes other patrol categories and mission descriptions. Read the objective before launching another mission: rescuing allied ships, neutralizing spore colonies, and defeating enemy waves involve different tasks.
On PC, the PvE interface can be opened through the button below the minimap that resembles three arrows. Patrols share that interface with TFOs, but they have their own tab.
Patrol Rewards and the Daily Bonus
Repeatable Patrols-menu missions combine Reputation Marks, Dilithium Ore, and experience. Your first completed patrol each day on each character receives additional rewards.

| Reward | Standard completion | First completion of the day, per character |
|---|---|---|
| Reputation Marks | 15 | 30 |
| Dilithium Ore | 500 | 1,000 |
| Skill Points | Triple Skill Points | Triple Skill Points |
The daily bonus applies to Marks and Dilithium Ore. Keep it separate from the patrol system’s triple Skill Points benefit.
If you only have time for one mission, complete your character’s first patrol of the day to collect that larger payout. The Dilithium reward is Ore, so account for refining before planning purchases that require Refined Dilithium.
Patrols also provide Expertise. For short solo sessions, that mix lets you work on several resources while progressing your ship.
Choosing Difficulty for Ship Mastery
The Patrols interface offers Normal, Advanced, and Elite difficulty. Patrols’ triple Skill Points make them useful for progressing Starship Mastery, while higher difficulty increases the chance of item drops.

Choose difficulty around the run you want to complete:
- For a short session: Start on Normal and focus on completing the objectives cleanly.
- For mastery progression: Track your mastery gain alongside the time spent completing the patrol.
- For additional item drops: Increase difficulty when your ship can handle the combat comfortably.
Keep the same patrol and difficulty when comparing ship setups. That gives you a more useful comparison than switching missions and difficulty together.
Avoid planning around a guaranteed one-run mastery unlock. Use your actual progress to decide whether another patrol is worth fitting into the session.
Cooldowns and Older System Patrols
Patrols-menu missions have a 30-minute replay cooldown. Leaving before all objectives are complete also activates that cooldown, so finish the mission rather than abandoning it to restart.
Select another available patrol while Wanted is cooling down. Options include Rescue and Search, which involves rescuing allied ships, and Ruins of Doom, which tasks you with neutralizing spore colonies.
Be careful when selecting older patrols through sector space. Their access requirements, rewards, and replay rules differ:
- Older Alpha and Beta Quadrant system patrols are restricted to Federation-aligned captains, cannot be replayed, and reward skill points rather than the Patrols-menu reward package.
- Romulan Republic system patrols become available at level 50, repeat every 30 minutes, and award 10 Romulan Reputation Marks plus 480 Dilithium Ore.
- Older Delta Quadrant system patrols require completion of “Escalation” and access to the Delta Quadrant sector map. They repeat every 30 minutes and award 10 Delta Reputation Marks plus 480 Dilithium Ore.
For Wanted, select its entry in the Patrols menu to keep the launch process direct and the mission easy to find again.
